South African ceramicist Astrid Dahl began working with clay in the mid-nineties through learning the traditional methods of coiling and hand-working. Taking her inspiration from nature and the artistic design structures found in observing plants, she works only with natural white clay, championing the beauty of clay in its true form and manipulating the contrasts between light and shadow.
