Aïssa Dione, a painter and textile designer revered for revitalising the Ancient Weaving Craftsmanship was born in Nevers, France to a French mother and a Senegalese Father. Dione studied art in France before moving to Senegal to
continue her studies at the University of Dakar. While in Senegal, she reconnected with her paternal grand-mother and her family roots developing a passion for Senegalese fabrics in turn inspiring her textile brand. Her designs and fabrics have gone on to grace major design stores and brands including Hermés, Fendi, Christian Liaigre and Peter Marino.
