As both an artist and scholar, Peju Layiwola’s in-depth knowledge and talent is redefining the art landscape as well as nurturing the development of artists and creatives through her position of Head of the Department of Creative Arts at the University of Lagos. Across the fields of artistry and education, she has garnered multiple local and international awards, whilst being recognised as a Distinguished Scholar in various Universities. Where her art medium initially began with bronze, she has added the art of fabric, textiles and ceramics into her repertoire – with her exceptional exhibition, Indigo Reimagined being shown in ALARA, a depiction of an age old tradition of fabric making.
